DMVA runs 4 full-service state veterans homes with 449 skilled care beds and employing over 750 North Carolinians. Our goal is to provide high quality care to veterans that improves their quality of life. We know how to meet the unique needs of our veterans.

- Specially designed therapeutic recreational programs directed by activity personnel on each unit.
- Full range of in-house activities, community outings and programs involving local volunteer groups.
- Special programs throughout the year honoring veterans.
Hospital care provided by either the VA Medical Centers or local hospitals.
Closed:
As a result of identifying significant repair needs and structural deficiencies at our State Veteran Home Fayetteville (SVHF), the Department made the decision to close and replace the facility, and assist the 85 residents relocate to other State Veterans Homes or any facility of their choice.

Visitation Guidelines

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has revised federal guidance for nursing home visitation. This relaxes the rules that have been effect to date, allowing visitation to resume effective Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Loved ones will no longer need to schedule a visit ahead of time.
